Fish In The
Sea® events are described by some to be like private
parties hosted by friends. Fish In The Sea® events are
specifically designed to facilitate interaction among guests.
Our goal is for attendees
to get to know one another in a casual environment -- mixing
it up with our original brand of party games. Most of our events
employ our unique Beneath The Surface
IcebreakersSM. For example, at one of our January
events, the icebreaker was What Resolutions I Made And Already
Broke Even Though January Is Not Quite Over YetSM.
At a St. Patrick's Day party that we hosted, one of the icebreakers
was Name Everything Green...SM, where our guests showed
off their creativity by naming things from The Beanstalk (as in
Jack and The Bean Stalk) and Mr. Greenjeans (from Captain Kangaroo)
to that wonderful piece of music Greensleeves and that
comedic tv show Green Acres.
Other events employ our
Ultimate FishingSM mixers. For example, one of our
mixers was Flags of the WorldSM, where each attendee was
given a flag from a country that contains Red, White &/or Blue
and had to locate his or her counterpart with the same flag.
Participants really enjoyed this mixer, as it gave people the
perfect excuse to meet and maybe make that extra special
love-connection.
Other events we host are
held after-work for professionals interested in mixing business and
pleasure. Our Singles Business NetworkSM events
generally draw a nice mix of professionals -- from models,
artists and entertainers to lawyers, medical professionals and
bankers. This format takes the pressure off and ultimately is
a win-win, as people know that that even if they don't make a love
connection, they may make a valuable business connection. At these
events, we either invite up to four attendees to give a few minute
presentation about their business or have outside speakers.
For example, at one of our events we had two great speakers, who
lectured briefly on Financial Issues for Singles (no one ever said
you should wait until you get married to start your 401K!).
New Amsterdam Ventures,
LLC, which hosts Fish In The Sea® events provides at
least 5% from the registrations from each event to one or more
charities. Among the charities that we have supported in the past
are The
Elephant Sanctuary; American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (also known as the ASPCA); Family Dynamics, a charity whose goal it is to
prevent child abuse and neglect in Brooklyn; and American Cancer
Society.
With multiple types of
events to choose from, Fish In The Sea® has an event
for everyone: Singles Business NetworkSM, Wonderful
Weekday SeriesSM, Saturday Singles SeriesSM,
Boomers SeriesSM, Seniors SeriesSM and Just
Jewish SeriesSM. There are also Sea-Change Special
EventsSM.
Currently we are hosting
events in New York City where our home office is located, but we
plan to expand to other areas soon. Visit www.FishInTheSea.com for more information about
our upcoming events.
